Application Information
Application forms and course fees for the Thematic Workshops will be available under each course on the 'Thematic Workshops on IHL' page. HPCR International's Thematic Workshops are tailored to meet the needs of practitioners and policymakers. United Nations staff, diplomats, government officials, and professionals from non-governmental organizations will find the curriculum designed to address the security challenges encountered in humanitarian operations in hazardous countries. Others with substantial interest and relevant experience, including journalists, members of the military and scholars, are also invited to apply.
Selection of ParticipantsThe Thematic Workshops are specifically designed for mid-career professionals. Applicants should have 3-5 years of experience in humanitarian affairs and armed conflict. It is suggested that applicants have prior exposure to either the practice or the theory of humanitarian affairs or security management. Participants are expected to have attended the Core Professional Training on Humanitarian Law and Policy (or an equivalent multi-day training) in order to attend an IHL Thematic Workshop or be able to demonstrate significant experience of IHL. All workshop sessions are conducted in English, therefore applicants are required to have a good working knowledge of the language. No translation will be provided.
