e-products: overview
In response to the demands for information and knowledge from the field, HPCR International is partnering with the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University and the South-East Asia Peace Lab at Paramadina University to provide innovative distance learning resources to the humanitarian community. HPCR International and the Program at Harvard are committed to expanding training opportunities for humanitarian professionals. Building on pilot research conducted by the Program at Harvard, Online Introductory Modules are being offered as part of a multi-year initiative to assess the application of distance learning tools in the field of international humanitarian law and humanitarian action. E-modules, including video/audio lectures by faculty from the Advanced Trainings on Humanitarian Law and Policy program, selected readings, and discussion forums, are designed to provide an intensive refresher on international humanitarian law and policy. Additional e-modules will be available shortly on the topics of humanitarian security and peacebuilding. |
HPCR International and the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University have recently partnered with the South East Asia Peace Lab in Jakarta, Indonesia to develop a new training tool, the Interactive Thematic Module (ITM). The largely web-based ITM is a training tool that builds the networks, knowledge, and critical thinking skills of professionals through the exploration of key dilemmas related to a particular theme. Developed in 2008 by the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University, Live Seminars propose interactive web-based discussions with experts and senior field practitioners on area-specific challenges of International Humanitarian Law as well as theoretical debates on the place of IHL in current conflicts. Past recordings are available by signing up to the Forum on Humanitarian Law and Policy. |
